The Third Place

Here at The Havre Local, we are fascinated by the concept of the “Third Place”. The idea is that humans split the majority of their time between three places – home is the “First Place”, work/school is the “Second Place”, and where they choose to spend the remainder of their time is the “Third Place”.

The “Third Place” could be anything from the local coffeeshop or watering hole, a club or fraternal organization, a church or spiritual group, or even a local gym or barbershop.

These “Third Places” are often major contributors to the character and personality of a local community. Our goal is to showcase businesses and organizations that provide value to the Havre public – and that definitely includes “Third Places”.
